Meet the innovators driving IDI forward
Hasanat Dewan, PhD
Chief Executive Officer
Hasanat has led technology innovation in global fintechs at the CTO level focusing on Data, Trading, and AI Product. He built global trading and data intelligence platforms at Morgan Stanley, Deutsche Bank, Merrill Lynch, Russell Investments, and E*Trade, with full ownership of the product.
He holds a PhD in Computer Science from Columbia, and a BA Magna Cum Laude in Computer Science and Physics from Brandeis. He is a Wien Scholar and a Trustee of STAC.
Lloyd Sher
Chief Operating Officer
Lloyd has over 30 years of experience in building mission-critical business solutions at global financial institutions. He led large technology delivery groups at Deutsche Bank, Merrill Lynch, and at Mubadala, where he was co-CTO of Shared Services.
Lloyd has extensive experience in the confluence of Data, Analytics, and Product in the fintech space.
Lloyd holds a BS in Computer Science from Binghamton University.
Mark Hughes, PhD
AI/ML Product Lead
Mark is an experienced Machine Learning and Vision expert with a 21-year track record of building novel ML platforms for the media and security industries and transforming cutting-edge technology into product.
Mark was formerly Director of AI at United Healthcare. He held senior roles in critical DoD AI programs, including DARPA MAVEN, and has been active in the Deep Tech startup scene in the US and Europe.
Mark holds a PhD in Machine Learning.
Edward Barker, PhD*
AI/ML Product Lead
Edward has extensive experience in the full-lifecycle delivery of AI products in fintech, insurance, and government.
He is widely published in academic and practitioner journals such as JML and RLDM and has presented in leading AI/ML forums on Reinforcement Learning.
Edward holds a master’s degree in Mathematics and is in the final stages of a PhD in Reinforcement Learning at The University of Melbourne.

Omar Hussain
Commercial Lead
Omar began his career at Gartner in London, establishing the BFSI practice in the Nordics and led Gartner Invest and Conglomerates in MENA.
Subsequently, at Mubadala, he established the commercial and customer experience functions at its newly established shared services entity.
Omar is leading the commercial sales function at IDI and designing processes for growth.
